Sewage Treatment Plants

Sewage treatment plants engineered for reliable treatment & reuse

MBR, MBBR and SBR sewage treatment β€” from the first site discussion to long-term plant performance for industrial and commercial facilities.

What an STP does

Treat sewage so it can be discharged or reused

Hitech Fluid System designs and implements sewage treatment plants for industries, housing and commercial facilities based on actual sewage characteristics, capacity, available space, treated-water requirements and operating conditions.

After water is used in toilets, washrooms, kitchens and canteens, organics, solids and other constituents are added. An STP combines physical and biological processes β€” and often a tertiary stage β€” so treated water can be discharged or reused. Selecting an STP should not begin with technology alone.

Not every STP should be designed the same way

Two facilities generating the same quantity of sewage may still need different treatment approaches. We treat STP work as an engineering requirement, not a standard equipment package.

Technologies

MBR, MBBR and SBR β€” plus the stages around them

MBR

Biological treatment plus membrane separation. Considered where high-quality treated water, reuse or a compact footprint matter.

MBBR

Carrier media provide surface area for biological growth in a continuous process. Practical for many industrial and commercial applications.

SBR

Biological treatment through controlled fill, react, settle and withdraw cycles. Useful where batch operation fits the load pattern.

Typical sewage-treatment stages

MBR vs MBBR vs SBR

Don’t choose the technology first. Understand the water. Understand the requirement. Then choose the process.

Treated sewage is a resource β€” not always a waste

Where technically appropriate, treated sewage can be reused for landscaping, toilet flushing, cooling-related applications, utility water and selected industrial uses. The process should be designed around where the water ultimately needs to go.

Our STP engineering process

  • Understand the site, sewage generation and objective
  • Assess wastewater through laboratory partners where required
  • Define capacity, quality, reuse and space
  • Select MBR, MBBR, SBR or a combined train
  • Engineer, install, test and commission
  • Support through AMC, O&M, troubleshooting or revamping

Existing STP not performing?

An underperforming STP does not automatically mean the entire system must be replaced. Hitech Fluid Systems can assess plants originally installed by other vendors β€” odour, foaming, load, breakdowns, operating cost, biological performance and reuse quality.

  • Treated-water quality is not as expected
  • Unpleasant odour or excessive foaming
  • Plant cannot manage present load
  • Frequent equipment breakdown
  • Facility capacity has increased
  • Treated water now needs to be reused

Industrial customers are not simply buying tanks, pumps and membranes β€” they need a system that works with the facility and can be supported after commissioning.

Frequently asked questions

What is an STP?

An STP treats sewage generated from toilets, washrooms, kitchens and canteens before appropriate reuse or discharge.

What STP technologies does Hitech Fluid Systems provide?

Hitech Fluid Systems works with MBR, MBBR and SBR, and can also discuss conventional biological processes such as extended aeration where they fit the site.

Which is better: MBR, MBBR or SBR?

There is no single best technology. Selection follows sewage characteristics, capacity, space, treated-water quality, reuse and how the plant will be operated.

Can STP-treated water be reused?

Yes, depending on treatment quality and the intended application. Typical non-potable uses include landscaping, flushing, utilities and selected industrial purposes.

Can Hitech Fluid Systems repair an STP installed by another company?

Yes. We first identify the process, equipment or operational problem, then recommend the appropriate correction or upgrade.

Why does my STP smell?

Odour can come from biological conditions, aeration, loading, stagnant zones, sludge management or operating practices. A site assessment is better than assuming a single cause.

Discuss your sewage treatment requirement

Whether you need a new STP, want to improve reuse, or have a plant that is underperforming, start by sharing the site conditions.

Our team will review your requirement and contact you to understand the application in more detail.
