Is ZLD right for every industrial site?
No. It should be evaluated against wastewater characteristics, recovery needs, operating costs and applicable requirements.

Zero Liquid Discharge
Zero Liquid Discharge is a system objective, not a single piece of equipment. It aims to recover water while managing the remaining concentrated waste.

ZLD systems reduce liquid waste streams and produce water for reuse. Local water availability, water cost and wastewater discharge criteria make recovery a commercial as well as an environmental decision. Hitech Fluid Systems assesses industrial wastewater, recovery objectives, operating constraints and existing treatment infrastructure before proposing an approach.
A ZLD project may involve multiple stages of treatment, concentration and residual management. The arrangement must follow wastewater analysis and site requirements. Our ETP, RO and recycling experience helps frame the complete water balance rather than considering one unit in isolation.

Membrane processes can reduce chemicals compared with some conventional trains. Ultrafiltration removes suspended solids; RO reduces dissolved constituents. Both appear in many recycling and ZLD schemes.

The conversation that shaped this site identified a ZLD solution for Addison & Co. at Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. Before treating it as a full published case study we confirm scope, capacity, process and measured result.
If an existing recovery system is not meeting its target, performance can change as wastewater characteristics, equipment condition or operating practices change. We assess the current system before specifying new capacity.

Water recycling recovers water for suitable reuse. ZLD goes further by addressing liquid discharge through an integrated recovery and residual-management approach.
